Inside the Cake

Now though the saying is your eyes eat the food, the inside of the cake is so important! Not only the taste but the base of the cake needs to be stable to support your artistic abilities.

  • Make sure your cakes are fully cooled before frosting and stacking. If you don’t do this it will crumble and fall apart.

  • To fill the cake, make an outer circle of frosting to contain the filling.

Frosting Tricks

Frosting a cake may sound time-consuming, but here are my best tricks to have a quick easy frosting process.

  • If not filling the cake, try to have a nice even layer of frosting between each layer. If you are frosting light on the outside, make sure to be generous with the inside.

  • Chill the cakes so the frosting doesn't melt! A warm cake might sound delicious but once it's melting it won't be so good anymore.

  • Adjust the frosting to your desired consistency. If it's too thin, add some more sugar. If it’s too thick, add milk or cream.
